19 August 2005 I guess the first bit of news is that this site is up and running. Second bit is that, strangely, I made it onto the 2005 Downbeat Critics Poll list under Electric Bass Rising Star. You can see me in print with the rest of the folks here. Third, editing and mixing for my next CD are done. Pretty happy with it. The band is Stigtette and the disc's title will be "Delta." I'm pretty happy with the tunes. One interesting thing about the disc is no drummer, any percussion-like stuff on the disc is prepared bass. Look for a release on pfMENTUM in October 2005.

06 September 2005 Added pictures to the page on prepared bass - - here. Also did some stuff in an attempt to make this site more readable.
07 September 2005 Added links to MP3s on the Mentones, Minim and Homler/Liebig Duo CD pages. 08 September 2005 Added links to MP3s on the three Quartetto Stig CD pages, Hommages Obliques, Lingua Oscura and Pienso Oculto.
09 September 2005 Added page on "auralization."
14 September 2005 Added links to MP3s of two live versions of some of my solo bass literature, suite 1, part 2, and four miniatures, part 2 on the AKA Steubig page.
15 September 2005 Added links to MP3s (from mini-disc recordings) of two live versions of a Lane Ends Merge Left tune, Not Silent, and a Seconda Prattica Quintet tune, Cyanide, on their respective pages.
19 September 2005 Modified the pictures page and broke it into three parts (just me, bands, collectives). Added pictures to the different picture pages.
10 October 2005 More pics on the pictures pages (just me, bands, collectives) as well as the Homler-Liebig Duo page. Ken Luey took some real nice pics and has been kind enough to let me use them (thanks Ken!). Sent the artwork and audio master of for the Stigtette disc "Delta." Should have the stuff back soon (I'm getting excited about that). Will be having a few events based around that in November. See the Calendar page for those and other upcoming dates in October and November. Booked time for the next Mentones recording. I'm hoping it will be out in the spring of 2006 (or thereabouts).
24 October The Stigtette disc, "Delta," has been shipped and will soon be "officially" announced. Now i get to mail it out to reviewers and all the fun stuff. We'll be doing some dates around the disc's release, see the Calendar page for those and other upcoming dates in October and November.
17 November It's now official, the Stigtette disc, "Delta," has been announced and is now out and available for your purchasing and listening pleasure. (Now i get to mail it out to reviewers and radio.) You can go here, to see the pfMENTUM album page, or here, to see the album page on this site. Both have audio files and the one here has pictures of the band (as does the bands pictures page). Also updated the Delta page and the just me and bands pictures pages.
13 December There are new reviews of Delta, here. Added an audio files page so you can find audio in one convenient place. Also, I updated some of the pictures pages a while back . . . split things into sizes that are hopefully more easily loaded. Go to the main pictures page to access different pictures pages. |
